CONGRATULATIONS to the VHSL CLASS 5 2022-2023 Gymnastics State Champions!
TRYOUT INFORMATION for 2024-2025 Season
- UPDATE: Tryouts will be held again on Monday, November 6th at Paragon Gymnastics from 2:30-4:00 pm. Transportation for tryouts is the gymnast's responsibility.
- All athletes trying out must have a current VHSL Physical on file to be eligible to try out. Physicals are due to Ms. Zier by November 2nd.
- All athletes must register and sign a liability waiver with Paragon Gymnastics BEFORE tryouts. Click the link to create an account and sign the waiver. You can leave the CC information blank. If the athlete already has a current account with Paragon Gymnastics (within the last year) and currently practices there, you can skip this step. If the athlete makes the team, Paragon requires a $50 yearly fee to be paid on November 10th.
- Wear gymnastics apparel (leotard, spandex, snug fitting tank/t-shirt, athletic shorts, etc.) Bring all necessary equipment including (tiger paws, grips, wrist bands, athletic tape, pre-wrap, and CHALK (Paragon does not have chalk bowls, so athletes must bring their own). It is not necessary to buy any extra equipment before tryouts.
- Gymnasts will be selected for the team based on their skill level, effort, and ability to contribute to multiple events.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Practices will be held weekly at Paragon Gymnastics. Transportation options will be discussed when the roster has been posted. Practice schedule may change. Updates will be sent out via email.
Monday: 2:30-4:00 pm
Thursday: 2:30-4:00 pm
On weeks where there are competitions (typically on Wednesdays), we will have practice on Monday & Tuesday.
Other Important Items
- Gymnasts must be at practice the day before a competition to compete.
- Gymnasts must be at school for the entire school day to compete in a meet that night. Any extenuating circumstances must be preapproved by Coach Brooks and the athletic director.
- Not all gymnasts will compete in each meet. Gymnasts who have regularly been attending practice and are competition ready on each event will be considered for competition. The lineup will be set on the Tuesday before the meet so gymnasts will know which event they are competing in.
- If a gymnast is not competing, they are still required to attend each meet to support and cheer on their teammates.
- If a gymnast is injured, they are still required to attend practice unless they have an excused absence.
